Each of your hair follicles is in one of three stages of growth at any given time. The “active growth” (anagen) phase, “regressive” (catagen) phase, and “resting” (telogen) phase. Laser hair removal is most effective at disabling the actively growing hairs present during a treatment. It is during this anagen stage that the hair shaft contains the greatest abundance of melanin, the target of the laser light. At any given time, many hair follicles are in their resting or regressive stages. The length of the growth cycles also varies slightly by body area. Your treatment plan will be customized to obtain optimal results just right for you.

How does it work?
The Cynosure Elite Aesthetic technology uses state-of-the-art laser technology to precisely target and destroy each hair’s root and shaft, making it difficult or impossible for the hair to regrow. Each treatment reduces even more hair. Hair present during a treatment will slowly fall out within days but new hairs will emerge as a normal part of the hair’s life cycle, making it necessary for several repeated treatments to achieve full hair loss on any targeted area.

Laser hair removal with this technology has been successful for both men and women and almost all body areas can be treated. We can remove even lighter colored hair on all skin tones, a goal that was tricky or impossible with previous technologies. For best results, more treatments may be needed to remove lighter hair than darker hair.
